Tuesday's Dirt: Sweet Spring!

We love to get our hands in the soil, plant seeds and smell the petite lavender plants that can calm you with one deep whiff. We want to share some of the simple pleasures we experience daily on the farm with our newest feature, "Tuesday's Dirt." We will take you on a tiny pictorial trip down fresh & fancy lane. Oh! btw it's not all sunshine and happiness (all the time). Tending to plants takes time and patience. We know what it's like to have dirty, rough, splintered hands...and like it. Enjoy!

Happy "Plant A Flower Day"

It's "Plant a flower day" and planting a flower or appreciating one seems like the perfect thing to do on this toasty Monday. Below is a collection of vintage seed packets we fancy. They feel royal, untouchable. We imagine in 1866 to get your hands on one of these packets was like magic. Although, we imagine that's exactly how we would feel if someone handed us them today. Plant a flower. It doesn't have to be today or tomorrow - but sometime this spring. Plant it, water it and soon you will be the guardian of something delicate and beautiful.

Life in the Greenhouse

Spring is right around the corner. And in growing, every day, drop and degree matters! So a lot of our time now will be spent taking care of our tiny plants in the greenhouse. We will be sure to feed them the right amount of water and make sure they are at the temperature that makes them happy! Some plants (like marigolds) are hardier so being in slightly cooler temperature doesn't bother them unlike other plants that may freeze.

Recently we planted hundreds of tiny plugs into larger plots so they can start spreading their roots! Below are some photos of the little guys from lavender to apple mint. Stay tuned for updates...here's to a happy spring! Enjoy!
